Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze temperature of coastal city and correlation between land cover and temperature. The temperature is measured 12 point of site in Haeundae. The land use informations surrounding measurement point is that altitude is 2.3~239.1 m, building coverage ratio is 4.0~27.3%, floor space index is 14.1~228.6%, green ratio is 0.0~59.1%, barrens ratio is 0.1~18.3%, artificial coverage ratio is 14.3~81.2%, and natural coverage ratio is 2.8~81.7%. The effects that temperature distribution are influenced by altitude, natural coverage rate and artificial coverage rate are analyzed quantitatively. According to it, there are correlations between urban structure and micro climate distribution, and heat island can be easy by environment-friendly urban design. As correlation coefficients R are the results influenced by convection heat transfer, those are higher on relatively windy and fine day. And slope of linear regression analysis is sharply in artificial coverage rate, it has a great effect on temperature distribution.
