Abstract |
Body composition, aerobic exercise capacity, and blood constituents in overweighted women after dietary caloric restriction at 1,300 kcal/day for 10 weeks with either walking (6WD) or running (6RD) exercises at identical speed of 6 km/h have been compared. From both 6WD and 6RD, a positive effect of physical characteristic has been observed. For reduction of body fat and elevation of HDL-C, the caloric restriction with running was effective while decrease of hip circumference and subscapular fat thickness as well as increase of exercise duration were obvious in the caloric restriction with walking exercise. The results suggest that, although exercise modes on the identical speed while either walking and running did not show differential effects, selection of exercise modes should be performed based on the purpose of exercise program. |
