Abstract Recently, energy conservation and environment contamination are becoming the center of interest all over the world. In a field of construction visual environment, various studies are being conducted on how to offer more comfortable visual environment for people and be more economical such as the influx of daylighting using daylight devices, a integrated design and control for daylight and artificial lighting. In order to estimate the environmental performance of those buildings, various certification systems such as CASBEE, LEED, GBTool, and GBCC have been developed and, However, the standards and the indices between those certification systems are different from one another so that each system cannot be needed internationally In the case of items related visual environment, although it is an important factor because energy content of consumption of buildings is account for 30% yearly, they are scarcely included in comparing to other evaluation items. The purpose of this study is to offer a improvement on visual environment estimating factors comparing and analyzing visual environment indices of domestic and foreign green building rating systems.
