Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the smoking cessation program for college students using AB single system design. Single system designs have been emphasized which is a means for effective assessment of clients. This study was conducted by nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design with measuring the various dependent variables to improve the internal validity. The subjects were 4 smokers in S college, they were classified with experimental group and control group by twos after due consideration of amount a day, duration, and stages of behavioral change related with smoking. Data were collected for 17 days from Nov 3 to Dec 19, 2008 (baseline period was the forgoing 7 days and intervention period was the after 10 days). The 10 day intervention program for experimental group was connected with D-gun public health center and was developed based on TTM. Collected data were analyzed by using the results of visual and statistical analysis on smoking amount a day and the results of pretest-posttest on stage of change, nicotine dependence, concentration of CO in expiration. As the result of the analysis, it can be confirmed that the smoking cessation program was effective for college students in campus.
