Abstract Purpose: This study was to test the reliability and validity of a Chicago Lead Knowledge Test in korean parents. Method: The CLKT was designed to assess a knowledge of lead by Mehta & Binns (1998) and consisted of four factors(nutrition, general information, exposure, and prevention). A methodological study design with an exploratory factor analysis for validity and correlation coefficients for reliability was used. CLKT was tested with a sample 237 parents in Korea. Results: The internal consistency was acceptable by Cronbach's alpha = .872. The factor analysis showed four factors explaining 66.84% of total variance. Conclusion: From this reliability and validity test results, CLKT is a reliable and valid instrument to measure for knowledge of lead in Korean parents.
