Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to investigate the creatine supplementation and power training for 12 weeks on body composition and performance in female hockey players. Fourteen healthy collegiate females participated and were divided into two groups; Control group(Con.) and Experimental group(Ex.). Characteristics of subjects were (n=7, 21.3±1.3 yrs, 165.4±5.6 cm, 61.7±6.2 kg, 22.4±3.1 kg/m2; Con. n=7, 21.6±1.4 yrs, 161.7±3.7 cm, 63.9±6.9 kg, 25.4±3.6 kg/m2). Body composition (weight, BMI, % fat), wingate tets (anaerobic power, fatigue index), and isokinetic muscular endurance were evaluated, Before, 4 week, 8 week and after the program the creatine supplementation and power program applications. Weight, BMI, and %fat did not show any significant difference between groups. And also anaerobic and isokinetic performance did not show any significant differences between groups. Consequently, creatine supplementation and power training for female hockey players had no effects on this study. |
