Abstract The purpose of this study was to analysis on occurrence and cause of snow boarder's injury had happened during the period of 2004-2008 winter season in ski resort located in Kwangwon province. The data for the investigation was obtained from the first aid treatment jogs of afore mentioned resort and their total were 2,294 cases. The researcher themselves looked into the data accumulated and organized with respect to frequency, daily probability, and cause of injuried snow boarder. Primary findings from this investigation includes the following. First, it was found the female's ratio (49.2%) for the injury appeared higher than male (50.8%), 0.70 per 1,000 of among total snow board injury cases were happened for 4 seasons. Second, weekend injury ratio appeared relatively higher than weekdays and 52.5% of the injury cases were found in this study. Night time injury ratio along time sequence in 24 hours appeared relatively higher than other time and 36.4% of the injury cases were found. Third, with respect to the main cause of the injury, it was found that the 1'st causal factor was unskillfulness of snow boarding technique, and other factors was fall down 58.2%, crash 41.0% cases in this survey. Within limitations and findings of this study, the researchers concluded that sufficient pre-season preparation in terms of fitness and knowledge of snow board skill is the prerequisite for the snow board injury prevention.
