Abstract The purpose of the study was to investigate teacher-efficacy and job stress according to DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness) behavioral types in health teacher. The subjects consisted of 119 elementary health teacher working in Jeonbuk. The data were collected from August 11 to 12, 2010 and analyzed by the SPSS 18.0. The average age of the subjects was 42.7 years and health teacher's experience was 16 years. Of the participants, D, I, S and C in behavioral type were 10.9%, 31.1%, 45.4% and 12.6% respectively. The teacher-efficacy and job stress were significantly different according to age and health teacher's experience. Job stress was negatively correlated with ‘instruction efficacy’ (r = ?0.331, p = 0.000), ‘health service efficacy’ (r = ?0.272, p = 0.003), ‘task-interpersonal efficacy’ (r = ?0.398, p = 0.000) and ‘community connection efficacy’ (r = ?0.326, p = 0.000). The ‘task-interpersonal efficacy’ was significantly different according to DISC behavioral types. Based on the results of this study, it is useful to develop program to promote teacher efficacy according to DISC behavioral types.
