Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of life gymnastics on body compositions(weight, %fat, BMI), stress hormone(cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine) and quality of life. Fourty six in rural elderly women were recruited from the public health center. They were divided into experimental group(EG, n = 22) and control group(CG, n = 24). EG was trained for 12weeks(3times/1week) and CG was not trained for 12weeks. Data were analyzed with ANCOVA. The results were as follows. Cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine decreased significantly in EG than CG after intervention. Emotional state, self-esteem and the sence of self improved significantly in EG than CG after intervention. But, weight, %fat, BMI, health condition, physical state and self realization were not significant difference between the two groups after treatment. In conclusion, life gymnastics was effective of stress control and quality life. |
