Abstract |
Since the 21st century, fear of exhaustion of fossil fuel has been caused the oil price fluctuations throughout the world. The destruction of the ozone layer and global temperature increase are not only threatening the environment but also people daily lives. To comply with this catastrophic climate changes, many efforts are made to boost renewable energy as an alternative source to fossil fuels and a possible solution to decrease environmental pollution. This study analyzes the performance of the hydrogen fuel cell system by comparing it to the performance of other conventional energy supplying methods such as central heating system and cogeneration system which are widely used in korean apartment buildings. In addition, this study conducts a feasibility analysis in the case when the hydrogen fuel cell system is installed in multi residential buildings by evaluating its energy consumption and green house gas emission. The economic analysis is conducted by using Life Cycle Cost. |
