Abstract |
This is a study of analyzing the thermal and energy performance of venetian blinds integrated doublewindow systems during the winter nights. The analyses were proceeded at the laboratory under the Test methods of thermal resistance for windows(KS F 2278), and with a full-scale mockup; analyzing the differences between opening and closing the blinds. The laboratory results show that the U-factor, when the blinds were all closed, was reduced by approximately 9.21% compared to when the blinds were opened; the radiant heat was blocked and reflected by the blinds from the inside to the outside. In addition, the temperature of the inner surface rose about 3, which helps preventing the dew condensation. Meanwhile, the results of a mockup test show that, when the ambient temperature was from -2oC to -9oC, heating energy consumptions were reduced by approximately 10.55% when the blinds were all closed. |
