Abstract |
This study compared the mental health risk, anxiety, depression and social maladjustment between institutionalized and home-reared children. The subjects were 150 institutionalized and 150 home-reared children in seoul. Results showed that institutionalized children were higher in mental health risk, depression and social maladjustment than home-reared children. Home-reared children showed no variations on mental health risk, anxiety, depression and social maladjustment depending on self knowledge of intimacy with teacher and comradeship. While institutionalized children showed significant variations on same item. In conclusion, mental health of institutionalized children might be influenced by the relationship with friend and teacher. |
