Abstract |
This study examined the fitness of a path model on the relationship among susceptibility · severity, benefit, barrier, self-efficacy and self-care for geriatric tuberculosis patients. Data were collected by questionnaires from 169 tuberculosis chemotherapy as patients by visiting a community health center located in the D city. The data were analyzed with the SPSS and AMOS programs. Susceptibility · severity, benefit, barrier and self-efficacy showed a direct effect on self-care of geriatric tuberculosis patients while susceptibility· severity, benefit and barrier showed an indirect effect on their self-care. Susceptibility· severity, benefit and barrier showed a direct effect on self-efficacy of geriatric tuberculosis patients. The hypothetical path model on self-care of geriatric tuberculosis patients was proven correct. Findings from this study can be used as basic data to develop self-care programs for geriatric tuberculosis patients. |
