Abstract |
This study was to determine the effects of treadmill exercise on inflammatory response makers and GLUT-4mRNA expression of sleletal muscle in diabetic rats. OLETF rats(n=30) were randomly divided into diabetic control groups(DM+C, n=10) and diabetic ecercise groups(Low/High-intensity, each 10). The rats in the exercise groups ran on a treadmill for 60 min/day, 3 times a week, over the course of 8 weeks. At the end of experiment, blood samples were taken and the concentrations of plasma glucose, insulin, IL-6, TNF-α were determined. Eight weeks of treadmill exercise significantly decreased(p<.05) serum levels of IL-6, TNF-α and HOMA-IR in diabetic exercise rats when compared with DMC, while GLUT-4mRNA expression were significantly increased. In conclusion, treadmill exercise can reduce the serum levels of inflammatory factors in diabetic rat, and increase GLUT-4mRNA expression. |
