Abstract Recently, the efforts about energy-saving of heating & cooling consumption in building are proceeding. But by the window to wall ratio(WWR) increasing, the heat gain through window is increasing. To solve that problem, people are effort to decreasing window area and increasing performance of thermal insulation of window. In phase of design, heat gain unexpectedly increase through window. For the remodeling, the performance of window need to increasing. As a result, the cost of changing window is expensive. The window film usually applied to glass in the high WWR building. Because the window film decreased heat gain through window without changing window and installing shading for remodeling. In present, the performance measurement method of the window film is the optical performance measurement method. Recently, this measurement method is not enough to new product of window film of the complex structure and the variety form. Therefore the development of performance measurement method of window film must needed. By fundamental study, this study analyzed comparison to the cooling energy consumption of non-film glazing and the cooling energy consumption of on-film glazing. And this study confirmed the cooling energy consumption by orientation. The result of analysis of the cooling energy consumption, in case of the window film insulation is installed, the cooling energy consumption has decreased 3%~17%.
