Abstract In order to prevent thermal bridges in wall-slab joints of structure, embedded thermal bridge breaker have been developed to apply for the reinforcement system of apartment buildings slab of Korea and thermal analysis was performed to confirm the effects of embedded thermal bridge breaker. In the results of performing the analysis in accordance with the insulation material filled hight in embedded thermal bridge breaker, it was exhibited the insulating performance of 80.7%, 82.8% and 84.8% in comparison with the existing thermal bridge breaker when each insulation height were 70 mm, 90 mm and 110 mm respectively. Therefore, proper height of the embedded thermal bridge breaker insulation was 110mm, and it can ensure the structural safety, insulating performance and workability by using insulation height 110 mm.
