Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of obesity on blood concentration of free fatty acid, ceramide and insulin resistance in obesity middle school girls. Thirty nine subjects participated in this study who divided into two groups as obesity group (OG) 26, normal group (NG) 13 in B metropolitan city. Comparisons between groups were free fatty acid, ceramide and insulin resistance. Data analysis was using by SPSS ver. 14.0 t-test. The results of the study indicated that OG (FFA, ceramide, insulin resistance) was significantly highly than NG. Therefore, ceramides are important factor about insulin resistance. In addition, this three factor is correlation with each other.
