Abstract The purpose of this study was to provide the base data for nurses' health promotion by analyzing metabolic syndrome risk factor and the subjects were nurses who worked in hospitals located in Seoul and Gyeong-gi province. A total of 436 self-reported questionnaires were collected and the data were analyzed by SPSS 21.0. The participants were divided into 2 groups by age?early adult (below 29 years) and middle age (over 40years). There were significant differences in most of the variables between early adult and middle age. Factor influencing health perception was explained by the risk of metabolic syndrome 15.8% and the order was frequency of exercise and age. Nurses' health perception was increased by the frequency of exercise and age. Therefore, it is necessary to support the differentiated strategy by age to promote the nurses' health and activation of health management.
