Abstract The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based program for the disease prevention and health promotion in clients with metabolic syndrome. The clients of this study were industry employees diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. This web-based program was developed through the process of analysis-design-development-preliminary operation?evaluation & modification. The detailed contents and screen layouts were comprised of the introduction of the program, information regarding the metabolic syndrome, educational contents for the promotion of health, selfevaluation checklists, and so on. The representative educational contents included exercise, diet, and self-management methods. Making this web-based program easily accessible to clients with metabolic syndrome will improve self-efficacy and encourage healthy behaviors, providing the means to improve the physiological parameters of the metabolic syndrome and to contemplate the disease prevention and health promotion.
