It looked into the concept of user experience design, the brainstorming method in the field of user experience design, and Persona application all through literature review, and also, examined the features of PBM and its beneficial application methods with case study. Furthermore, it investigated the application method for improvement of residential space through the cases of implementation of residential space planning, and then, verified the validity of PBM in residential space improvement plan through surveys for engineering/planning experts and users. The results of this study were as follows ; It has been confirmed that PBM was able to be used as a user-centered design tool for residential space design/planning including identifying problems, requirement elicitation, improvement direction and developmental design.
