Abstract With rapid economic growth, social structure has been diversified, resulting crime has increased. In an increasing demand for the secure environment from the offense, CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environment Design), which prevents crime by improving the environment, is becoming important. This study took a look at trial case-Crime Prevention Design No.1 Salt alleyway and Haengun Dong, selected two locations in Dongjak-Gu, Seoul that implemented environmental design in 2015, investigated the status of the applied techniques. By analyzing the survey data, taking into account regional characteristics, suggest improvement plan based on Seoul City CPTED Guideline, and to explore the use of environmental crime prevention design methodology that can be applied to a variety of environmental improvement projects.
