Title Relation between Overall Health Status and Environmental Satisfaction of Community Elders

Abstract This study was attempted to understand the relationship of overall health status and environment satisfaction among the community elderly. This study used the original data of 2013 Community Health Survey(CHS) implement by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This study limited the target as 61,552 people with age 65 or older among 228,781 people who are the survey targets all over Korea for 2013 CHS. As a results of this study, mental and physical health problems of community elderly were significantly different according to ‘level of safety’, ‘natural environment’, ‘traffic condition’ respectively, among the environment satisfaction. Overall health status was significantly different according to all items among the environment satisfaction. And, it was explained 10.1% by age, sex, educational level, marital status, residential area, residential periods, mental health problem, physical health problem, and environment satisfaction. Therefore, we should be considered of the environment for making health policy-making and aging-friendly city environment.
