Abstract Because of the sudden industrialization of Korea, the overpopulation problem in cities is becoming more serious, and more high-rise buildings are needed to accommodate the increased population. When buildings are built near the roads, noise pollution is increased in residential areas. To solve this problem, Noise Barriers have been developed. Noise Barriers have various forms and the sound absorption performance of Noise Barriers is expected to vary depending on the type. This research was carried out on the different types of Noise Barriers to test their sound absorption performances. Through the actual measurement and scale-modeling test of the noise barriers, it was confirmed that the noise barriers were effective in sound attenuation, whereby the tunnel type noise barriers showed the greatest effect.
