Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to investigate the microbial contamination of the ventilation system and to identify the sterilization effect through the 405nm LED module as a countermeasure. Ultraviolet rays are known to be effective in microbial sterilization, but since ultraviolet rays are electromagnetic waves, there is a possibility of deterioration when installed in a ventilation device, and there is a limitation that they should not be exposed to human. However, 405nm LED, not harm to human, was known to have also sterilizing power in food process. As a result of 24 hours visible light irradiation with LED module installed in the ventilation system, the sterilization effect was shown in OA prefilter and HEPA filter. In addition, the heat generation of the LED module does not have a significant effect in terms of heat recovery, which is the purpose of the ventilation system. The sterilization rate was 40-50% for bacteria and 60-80% for fungi. It needs to be irradiated for a long time compared to UV. |
