Abstract Recently, due to environmental concerns and the mandatory installation of renewable energy systems, installation cases of the photovoltaic system are increasing. As renewable energy systems increase, there are many research reports and researches on the installation status of photovoltaic facilities in Korea. However, most researches are based on the total amount of renewable energy produced nationwide. Therefore, the number and system capacity were investigated and analyzed in order to understand the current status of photovoltaic facilities for business in each administrative district in Korea. In this study, data related to photovoltaic facilities by the administrative district in Korea were collected through open information portal(open.go.kr). The scope of data collection was for business facilities corresponding to power generation projects among electricity businesses and was for plants from the past to 2019. Based on the collected data, the number of photovoltaic facilities by region, system capacity, capacity per population, and capacity per area of the administrative district were analyzed. Korea's photovoltaic facilities have surged since 2017, and about 70.9% of the total installed system cumulative capacity has been installed after 2017. By administrative district, about 24.31% of the total number of photovoltaic system facilities surveyed was found in Jeollabuk-do, showing the largest number.
