This study aims to investigate correlates of depression in Seoul metropolitan citizen during COVID-19 pandemic. Data from 5,000 citizen aged 15 years old and above were drawn from the 2020 Urban Policy Indicator Survey. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed across gender. The finding indicates that women were more likely to report depression. Housing type, job, family conflict, and frequency of digital device service usage were correlated with depression in both gender. Working from home was associated with depression in men. Neighborhood conflict and perception on the society were associated with depression in women. The results suggested that emotional solidarity should be strengthened by increasing non-face-to-face contact using digital devices while maintaining physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. |
