Abstract A recent survey revealed that a majority of motorcycle delivery workers involved in traffic accidents either did not wear personal safety equipments (PSEs) or only used it partially, leading to more severe injuries. Wearing PSEs is crucial for preventing accidents, and many countries have mandated its use. In this study, we investigated critical factors related to the usage of PSEs among motorcycle delivery workers and developed significant indices for its comprehensive service. Our regression analysis, informed by subjective evaluations, considered safety and comfort features. The significant indices identified underscore the substantial impact of PSEs usage on the life and safety of motorcycle delivery workers. This study suggests that establishing significant indices for the complete wearing of PSEs will contribute to reducing injuries and deaths in motorcycle accidents by increasing PSEs usage rates. Furthermore, to enhance the effectiveness of these findings, we recommend mandating the complete use of PSEs rather than permitting its partial usage.
