Abstract Presenteeism is known to be a major cause of productivity loss. However, research on the correlation between physical hazardous factors in the occupational environment and presenteeism is limited. This study examined the association between exposure to physical hazards and presenteeism among wage workers in South Korea. The results showed a significant association between exposure to physical hazards and presenteeism among Korean wage workers. Furthermore, gender differences were observed in the relationship between physical hazard exposure and presenteeism. Considering the impact of presenteeism on productivity and workers’ health, the importance of managing physical hazard factors in the workplace is emphasized.
