| Abstract |
This study aimed to examine the effects of participation in classical music meditation on adults’ empathy and social adaptation, focusing on the sequential mediation of affect and self-awareness based on the Five Aggregates. A total of 80 adults aged 20?35 participated in a 12-session classical music meditation program, conducted twice a week for 30 minutes per session. The program integrated selected classical music pieces with researcher-developed meditation activities designed to enhance emotional regulation and self-awareness. Empathy, social adaptation, affect, and self-awareness were measured using validated psychological instruments. Sequential mediation analysis using bootstrapping revealed significant indirect effects of classical music meditation on empathy and social adaptation through Five Aggregates-based affect and self-awareness. These findings highlight the importance of indirect pathways in understanding how meditation enhances social functioning and provide practical implications for adult education and community-based programs. |
