Abstract |
The basic seismic design principle of PC structures is to secure the safety and serviceability required for monolithic structures. The KCI-17 design code specifies only the basic concept for emulating the PC structures and does not mention specific emulation evaluation criteria nor methods. In this study, the structural performance of 150 beam-column joints was evaluated. The strength, stiffness, energy dissipation, and ductility of the collected PC specimens were analyzed and compared with the structural performance of the monolithic beam-column joints. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the structural performance of the PC member was almost similar to that of the cast-in-place concrete member when the connection of the PC member was reasonably designed. Therefore, the emulation of the PC intermediate moment resistance frame and the PC special moment resistance frame were evaluated based on the drift ratios of 2 % and 3.5 %, respectively.
