Abstract |
In this study, full-scale tests and numerical analyses were conducted to verify a method for controlling the load distribution ratio of piles using external post-tensioning without retrofitting of the foundation structure. In full-scale tests, specimens of the same size and rebar ratio as a basement wall just above the level of the foundation of an apartment subject to remodeling were tested. The tendon shape and wall thickness were variables. Numerical analyses compared the reaction force change ratio due to prestress force with the experimental values through finite element analysis. Additionally, the basement floor of an apartment with the same conditions was modeled to compare the performance differences of the method depending on the structural analysis program used. The results indicated that it is possible to control the load distribution ratio of the target pile by adjusting the position of the upper and lower anchorages. Furthermore, it is possible to predict load transfer due to prestress force at the design stage before implementing the method, regardless of the structural analysis program used.
