Aims and Scope

The Journal of the Korea Institute for Structural Maintenance and Inspection (J. Korea Inst. Struct. Maint. Insp., JKSMI) is the official publication of the Korea Institute for Structural Maintenance and Inspection, which was originally launched in 1997. The JKSMI provides an international forum to disseminate and exchange most recent technical information of structural maintenance and inspection among engineers, researchers, and educators in Korea as well as around the world. The Journal accepts original research articles, short communications reviews, case reports, editorials, reference reviews, and other invited papers. The JKSMI is published bimonthly with six issues each year, and is indexed in the Korea Citation Index (KCI).

The scope of the journal covers the following topics, but is not limited to:

- Structural health monitoring, repair, rehabilitation and retrofit,

- Nondestructive testing technologies,

- Construction materials,

- Asset management for infrastructure,

- Other topics within the scope of structural maintenance and inspection for various civil and architectural structures.

All submitted manuscripts are peer-reviewed by three reviewers. The text may be written in English or Korean, whereas the abstract, acknowledgments, and references should be written in both English and Korean. All manuscripts should be submitted through the online submission system of the JKSMI.

Articles published in the JKSMI are under the open access policy, which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any media, provided the original work is properly cited. The full texts of the journal articles are available to the public at http://journal.auric.kr/jksmi/

  • JKSMI standard submission fee is ₩200,000(approximately US＄190.00). The print charge for extra page upto 4 pages will be charged ₩20,000 per each extra page.
