| Abstract |
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate Sanbon new town as compact city. The paper also aims to explore the characteristics of compact city affecting sustainable urban form. In order to achieve the aims of this study, first priority was given to set up systematic framework of environmental sustainability indicators. Based on the framework, the assessment indicators were established. Secondly, With the indicators was analyzed urban form of Sanbon new town as compact city. thirdly, to investigate the environmental satisfaction and life style of residents of Sanbon new town, this paper used random sampling methods, which is mainly based on questionaires. This paper shows that Sanbon new town has land use pattern of compact city and residents are satisfied with their nature environment in spite of high-density habitat.
