| Abstract |
As this study is about the urban core restoration program making efficient use of the ‘Network’ concept in a district, the first purpose of this study is to analyze and compare japanese cases on the restoration guidelines and contents in urban architectural aspect in the respective districts, and then observe the realization degree of the cases. It also considers the direction of the urban core restoration through coming up with the architectural design method and design principles that ensure the realization of the urban core restoration program. The examples of this study are the district of Otemachi·Marunouchi · Urakucho in Japan where the affiliated groups have had a definite vision of the districts and cooperated with each other and obtained various results since organizing the block association 10 years ago, and include the six buildings that have completed recently. Putting the topics through analyzing framework, the examples of the urban core restoration shows the following:
Firstly, the buildings of the districts have been completed by the long term scheme which accomplish the vision of the districts through the design guidelines; Secondly, the recent buildings have been applied the design method and the design principle which is on the basis of the design guidelines to strengthen the network of the districts; Thirdly, the strong will of landholders and the participation of the various groups have been accomplished in relation to the managerial method. Though it is impossible to tell that the analyzed contents are general results, the contents and the progress of actualizing the vision of the districts for ‘Making a city attractive’ are very important. Furthermore, the future study is necessary for the concrete progress and agreement of the mutual cooperation among the government, residents, private enterprises. |
