| Abstract |
This is a study on the applicability of urban block housing to the residential area in Seoul. Itis based on the point of issue of the problem that high-rise, high-density massive apartmentsand ‘Dasedea·Dagaggu’ houses could not be harmonized with urban context. Theimplementations of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the housing blocks ofordinary residential area in Seoul were classified. Second, simulation were carried out on thepossibility of the development of block housing on the classified block types focused on thearranging style. Third, two types of practical model of block housing through the arrangingstyle of urban block housing and the adaptation of plan index were developed. Fourth, adaptthe models on the basis of built-up case area were adapted and evaluated. The result of thisstudy demonstrated that block-type apartment could be developed in existing residentialblocks in Seoul, and could offer better living environment such as sunshine duration andparking condition within the currently urban context. Consequently, It is possible to expectthat the block-type apartment could be an alternative housing type in residential area in Seoul. |
