Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to show the differences in terms of healthy city planning factors of various regions through comparative analysis between Asian and Western cities and to prepare a basic material for establishing healthy city indicators based on this results. In this study, firstly some studies and reports were reviewed and various planning factors were extracted by this process. Then we present some planning principles for healthy cities, and healthy city indicators were determined by DSR model. Finally, healthy city planning factors of six countries were compared and analyzed by reviewing the healthy cities plans prepared by each city. In this research process, some differences were found between Asian and Western cities. Firstly, Asian cities regard expanding and improving infrastructure such as water supply as important planning factors compared to western cities. Secondly, most western cities put greater emphasis on community environment factors while most asian cities take little consideration of this. Finally, facilities for low-income class people and accessibility to those facilities are regarded as important planning factors in the western cities, but not so in the asian cities. Especially, accessibility to medical services for the disabled is regarded as an important consideration in the healthy city plannning factors in western cities. |
