An Evaluation of Physical Design Factors’ Relationships for Establishing UDS(U-City Development Standard) - Focused on the Environmental Theory |
Abstract |
Today, urban development have promoted by new plans, ideologies and technologies of ubiquitous and sustainable development. For the success of ubiquitous and sustainable development, it is essential to consider economic aspects of the new plans, ideologies and technologies before their application. In addition it is still not clear that “big effects” could be made by “big investments” because of the insufficiency in UDS. This research aims to concrete “UDS” by conducting three stage in-depth analysis as follows. Firstly, this research conducts in-depth analysis of u-city development type and state-of-the-art according to the environmental theory. Secondly, 38 u-city development cases of domestic and overseas was analyzed in order to identify development types and physical planning factors towards u-city development. Consequently, five u-city development types were identified. Finally, by analysing the relationships of the proposed five u-city types and the planning factors, this research proposed a new set of five standardized u-city development types towards sustainable development. |
