| Abstract |
This study aims to derive inhabitant participation for conserving and rehabilitating the existing urban residential environment - conflict between the traditional residential buildings and high-rise mansions. With people increasingly interested in urban rehabilitation since 1990's in Korea, urban community is quickly becoming a popular trend. The residential zone in Soundong district of Cheongju City is selected for this research. While holding a workshop by opinion expression of inhabitants, the three different workshop tools of 'figure card', 'PIC (Pictogram Ideogram Communication)', and the tool using a drawing' are used and tested for their validity in the process. The result of this research indicates that the 'figure card' and the 'PIC' tools are very efficient as workshop media in deriving inhabitant participation. In addition, a drawing tool supplimented by these tools could fully reflect the opinion expression of inhabitants. |
