| Abstract |
The study investigated view landscape of characteristics of the traditional housing by analyzing the type of location in traditional villages. Any traditional village doesn’t have the same residential space and condition. Also, traditional Han-ok uses a outstanding view of mountaintop as landscape element. Therefore, we analyzed on view landscape of the characteristics of Hangae, Otgol and Haejeo Villages, which have specific differences of the location characteristic. According to the results of this study, the concept of ‘Andae(案對),’ which is major view landscape of traditional residential spaces, has obscure meaning. This has been defined differently among researchers and there is no standard notation in Chinese characters. Thus, the present study defined the specific concept of Andae based on the geomantic Chwahyang(坐向) theory. By applying the defined concept to the case villages, view landscape that was observed by Chwahyang of residential space and architectural characteristic was able to divide in Andae and principal view objects. In conclusion, this study found that the location of characteristic of traditional villages has a considerably effect on the composition of principal view landscape in traditional residential spaces. |
