Abstract |
The real situation is that stores of the Central Business District are loosing activities because most Downtown Commercial Streets are difficult to develop sidewalks. This research is focused on Gwangbok Street and promoted to establish the identity of city environment and improve streets into a part of Street Environment improvement project. A post-evaluation will be conducted and the satisfaction of walk environment, street scene, and local character will be analyzed. The satisfaction of each factor by areas and the effect on the overall satisfaction will be especially analyzed to get a result of factors. Survey region divides in two areas, A and B. A section offers large scale commercial facilities and wider walk street rather than B section. B section is located near PIFF-Plaza and an Gukje market. The analyses are as follows; First, the satisfaction of User has became higher than the satisfaction of merchants. Second, at street views in two areas, A and B, comfort and the sight recognition of sidewalks has been found in common. Third, as a result of importance calculation in 90% level of significance, common factors are visual recognition of sidewalk in the A section for users and merchants and the commercial street image in B section. In conclusion, Gwangbok Street Project has obtained good results in a part of the street view. It has effectively changed street structures including roadways and has made streets possible to transfer to the future walking exclusive area. |
