Abstract This study aims to find out the catchment area of riverside bikeway through the analysis of the bicycle commuters’ behavioral characteristics. For this analysis, the commute route data of 167 bike commuters who are using the smart-phone bicycle GPS application was used. Second, the catchment area of riverside bikeway from origination and destination with a cumulative distribution function was analyzed. The result of the analysis on the bicycle commuters’ behavioral characteristics show that the longer distance commuter prefer the riverside bikeway even it is further. Also, most of the subjects of analysis is living in new town or planned area which is more suitable for the bicycle. And they are more sensitive with the slope of destination than the slope of origination. Next, the result shows that the catchment area of origination and riverside bikeway is 2.8km and the catchment area of destination and riverside bikeway is 2.3km when the 85 percentile is applied in the cumulative distribution function. Also, the catchment area has a positive correlation with the rate of bike path on the route.
