Abstract |
This study aims to analyze changes of living conditions in residential mobility processes by income brackets, and to provide with housing policy alternatives. According to the results, every income bracket improves living conditions by residential mobility. However, low income bracket's degree of improvement is smaller than that of the high income bracket's. This result tells us that the gap of living conditions between income brackets will be widening. An analysis conducted with residential mobility within the area, showed similar results. However, the degree of improvement of residential mobility within the area is smaller than residential mobility out of the area. This result implies that families give up certain living conditions to hold living area. Some policy implications of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the policies for new housing supply have a positive effect to improve living conditions for every income bracket. Second, direct housing support policies for low income bracket is essential. Third, housing supply in neighboring existing residential areas is essential. |
