Abstract |
This study tries to analyze the differences of inhabitant's activities between the physical factor and the activity at two community alleys with similar physical environment depending on whether the green parking project is conducted or not. As a result, first, a variety and frequency of the number of social activities on the street at green parking areas are more larger than the street at non-green parking areas. Second, the types of social activities at green parking areas are mainly those of conversation and rest with physical elements, which lead to sitting down and taking a rest. On the other hand, conversation activities most often occur at non-green parking areas, which relatively are less affected on physical resources such as a bench or a grassy area. Third, eight types of social activities are observed at green parking areas with a bench(chairs), a stone bench, and an opened yard as providing the physical components. In conclusion, on the case of the green parking project, the result shows various and many outdoor activities of inhabitants. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the relationship of inhabitants’ outdoor activities and physical resources, which compose a community alley when green parking project is planned and designed further. |
