Abstract |
Gunsan has established a master plan for changing it as a modern historic-cultural heritage town. Gunsan city expects to enhance urban values through renewing and recovering old downtown as well as recovering modern historical landscape. This study aims to make a contribution to enhance spatial properties with individual identities by making demonstrative plans for tourism commerce and accommodation to two blocks in the historical landscape complex as part of the master plan. Prior to propose final plan, we investigate the current status of street, plot, and architectural properties in study area. Then we set up the rules for demolition, reconstruction, and repair of architectural buildings, and propose the final outcome. By forms of change, and composition safety are identified. In comply with the established conditions, we propose the followings. Demolition for providing public space has been limited only to extensional parts for the ceiling, block-type slate buildings and currently decays architectural buildings. For reconstruction, we have analyzed residential buildings built prior to the emancipation that have well-kept their natural forms so that we generate the basic type for roof, wall and windows and doors. Finally, the empty areas resulting from building demolition should keep remaining the existing spatial structure by installing small parks that preserve the existing ground track. |
