Title Finding Characteristics of the Housing Environment through Combined Analysis on Residents and Buildings in the low-rise Residental Areas - Focused on Human Town Model Area in Yonnam-dong, Mapo-ku, Seoul, Korea

Abstract This study focuses on define the existing characters, such as residents, parking, as well as physical condition, of low-rise residential area in Seoul City. As a target area of this study Yeonnam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, which is one of the representative cases that were developed in the early 1970s by the Land Adjustment Project. The results in this study can be summarized as follows : First, it found that the area consists of single-family housing of 45.7% Second, multi-family housing of 35.7% Third, 75% of tenant resident registration Forth, 78% of households have one person or two persons. In addition, the older, the more they live in single-family housing, while the younger, the more in multi-family housing. The average age based on the housing types is that single-family housing is the oldest of 53.7 years old; and row houses, apartment housing, and multi-family housing are next. Illegal parking occurred in almost any place in the area because there is not enough parking space, among which multi-family housing is the most serious. This study suggests some implications in the following that it tried to comprehensively analyse buildings, residents, and parking in low-rise residential area through field survey and official documents. Nevertheless, it need to be studied socioeconomic status of residents in the future.
