| Abstract |
The Purpose of this study is to suggest ideas for effective urban development around station influence areas. This study is consist of four chapters: discussion of trends in existing studies and regulations regarding the development of station influence areas, identification of problems by analyzing current development projects and regulations, verification of the analysis through in-depth interview with relevant experts including government officials and developers. The study recommends the followings: First, considering the complex characteristics of station influence areas, an additional development support system such as “code for acceleration of urban renewal” is required. Second, a coordination committee is necessary to draw a comprehensive plan. Since development districts are divided into the station and the surrounding areas with separate developers at most of station influence areas, it is difficult to make an inter-district plan. Third, the boundary of station influence areas should be clearly defined to solve the problems arising from the abstract designation. Finally, implementing urban planning measures such as transfer of development rights would be a good way to justify the high density development at station areas. |
