Abstract |
The purpose of this research was to derive policy implications for artists? network levels when creating and operating government-driven planned creation clusters. To achieve this, two site cases which represent the spontaneous creation cluster and planned creation cluster were chosen, and a survey was conducted among 30 resident artists of each cluster to measure the network levels of the individuals and the influence factors. The results of the analysis showed that the resident artists of Sindang Art Arcade, a planned creation cluster, were inferior to those of Mullae Art Village, an spontaneous creation cluster, in all the network level variables. The influence factor that showed a significant difference between the two cases was the existing space use. In Sindang Art Arcade, the resident artists' activities were limited to personal work in the private space whereas in Mullae Art Village, the resident artists engaged in diverse daily activities in diverse spaces. The implication derived through the results of the analysis is that planning for creation clusters which can promote raising networks among artists, space planning including spatial conditions and policy inducement that can accommodate diverse daily activities should be considered. |
