Abstract |
Recently, resident participation has been used to increase the impact of street revitalization projects in commercial and residential areas. We can classify residents into two groups -- active and passive. These groups usually have different evaluation standards and levels of satisfaction with revitalization projects. Therefore, to improve resident satisfaction and the impact of revitalization projects, there is a need to know how these groups evaluate such items physical design, programs, the participation process and role performance on projects. This study is an empirical investigation of evaluation characteristics by group during the course of a project through t-test. We looked at what are the most influential factors in determining satisfaction with a project through factor and regression analysis. The results, derived from 100 surveys by groups, are as follows: First, during the project, the active group was more satisfied with the all the evaluation items than the passive group. Second, the active group was more satisfied with most of the performance items which show the effect of the project. Lastly, in both the active and passive group, the most influential factor in the satisfaction and performance of the project was the ?participation process factor? and r? ole performance factor?. On the other hand, factor and regression analysis showed 'physical design factor' to be the most influential factor. |
