| Abstract |
In recent years, the railroad is drawing attention as an urban regeneration factor with people moving to another area or being shut down. However, it is insufficient for the local residents to take advantage of the regional activation through that abandoned railroad area. Thus, this study aims to find urban regeneration design strategy that the residents can follow through using the abandoned railroad area and surrounding facilities. As the result of this study, urban regeneration program like education, experience, commercial activities are suggested on the stagnant abandoned railroad area through resident participation. And by communication with residents, urban design combining civil engineering, landscape and building is going along with design direction combining abandoned railroad, warehouse, park, and ecological pedestrian overpass. The method of citizen participation and comprehensive urban design suggested in this article could be applied to future other urban regeneration design. |
