| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to develop 'happiness index' reflecting the characteristics of rural areas and measure the happiness of the residents living in those areas. In this study, the research has been conducted in the residents of lower level local government while the other existing studies on 'happiness index' have focused exclusively by countries and large urban cities. First of all, "happiness" has been classified into two sides; objective and subjective. The objective side of human has been defined and analyzed as 'happiness index' and the physical and subjective side of happiness as a 'base condition'. For 'base condition', the base facilities and physical condition have been analyzed using the official statistical data, and for 'happiness index', a survey has been conducted to study the satisfaction that the local residents individually feel. Lastly, when comparing 'base condition' and 'happiness index' of each region, not every region's 'base condition' and 'happiness index' were directly proportional to each other and even in the areas where they had high administrative support, the happiness of the residents was not exactly proportional. |
